WHAT WE BELIEVE

In the beginning God created the world. God created all things, including male and female. In the beginning there was peace and perfect fellowship with God. All of creation stood in right relation with God.

However creation's fellowship with God was broken through disobedience. Because of this diobedience, the entire human race bears the marks of sin and rebellion.

While justly angry, God did not turn His back on what He made. Rather, He set out to reclaim His creation. By an act of undeserved divine favour, God returns us to fellowship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

We believe the good news that God has sent His Son to pay the penalty for His people's sins. God forgives our sins and accepts us into His family when we trust in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation and turn away from our sins.

In response to God's undeserved favour, our lives are to reflect a deep sense of gratitude and service. To help us in our walk with Him God gives us His Spirit, who empowers us faith and obedience, helps us to understand the Bible, and stands by us in our time of need.

God has appointed a day when Jesus Christ will physically return as triumphant King. On this day God will crush every challenge to His rule. Also on this day we will receive from Him either judgement or reward.

As believers in Jesus Christ we long for this day when everything will be perfect again. Fellowship with God will be restored as it was in the beginning, and sin will be destroyed in its entirety. Thus, at Covenant, we cry, "Come, Lord Jesus!"
